END OF THE WORLD 12/21/12?

Apparently the Mayan calendar, or more importantly a translation of the Mayan calendar, stops on December 21, 2012. People are speculating that it signifies the end of the world. But really? What does astrology say about that date?
Astrology had a big event this year when two transiting planets, Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries made a 90 degree angle to each other at the exact same degree. By big, though, I mean in the world of transits. No great astrologer ever has stated that predictions can be made by transits -- not Ptolemy, not Placidus, not Leo, not even a current astrologer athough some like Susan Miller would have you believe that -- without directly stating it.
The predictive method Xtrology has perfected is based on your individual chart -- not on the planets overhead in the sky. Xtrology believes predictions cannot be made for the whole world since they are based on the birth date. When was the whole world born?
But let's look at what's going on anyway. What the hey? The Sun is in the last degrees of Sagittarius before it moves to the sign of Capricorn. It conjuncts Mercury and Venus also in Sadge (wide orbs). Conjunctions can be good or bad depending on the planets involved. None of these planets are malefic. The Moon has moved to the sign of Aries where it conjuncts Uranus and squares Pluto (out of orb) and Mars (way out of orb). The Moon is the fastest moving planet (in astrology we call the luminaries planets, too) and fast equals who cares? Jupiter is in Gemini so it opposes the Sagittarius planets. But Jupiter is benefic. Saturn in Scorpio is in a wide sextile to Neptune. Sextiles are completely unimportant in transits.
Nothing scary about this. Read the Llewellyn definition in my next post if you want the real story.
