BRITNEY POSTER GIRL FOR BAD CYCLE

Britney Spears is a Sagittarius, the sign ruled by Jupiter, the Great Benefic. So Jupiter girls are blessed with optimism and fire sign energy. She has a 3rd House Sun so communication is a natural outlet for her with three other planets there.

Her amazing "Will Make You A Star" cycle began July 2001 and ended August 2003. You rarely see someone get this famous without prior preparation and a positive progressed Jupiter cycle. It's interesting though, that Britney had her first number one album in 1999 before this cycle started. Another number one album came in 2001.

Then the tables turned and one of the worst cycles began -- progressed Mars square progressed Sun. This started for Britney August 2004 and continued through 2005, 2006 and 2007 and part of 2008.  (It lasted longer because both planets were progressed.) Many times you will see people that get a lot of public attention go from a really great cycle to a really negative cycle, hers  in just one year. The public seems to love to see someone fly high and fall low. Remember Michael Jackson?

You may recall some of the events that happened next. She had two children in 2005. She got a divorce in 2006. She was acting erratically in 2007. She was hospitalized early in 2008 and just as this cycle was ending, her ex-husband got custody of her children.

Britney is the poster girl for what it's like to go through this cycle. She had everything, beauty, talent, money, fame, a husband. Adding two children to a bad cycle unfortunately adds more stress. She may have thought it would make her feel better, but, again, the less action you take during a negative cycle, the less opportunities for something to go wrong.

You'll know if you are going through one of these cycles, because it feels like you can't do anything right. It's a very difficult thing to experience especially if you just had a good cycle where you can't do anything wrong. Britney started out doing pretty well. But sometimes that just lets the negative energy build up and explode, as it did in her case. People were quick to call her mentally disturbed, but, my guess, it was just this nasty time period that most people will experience once in their lives.

To complicate matters just as the first cycle was ending in 2008, she entered into another negative cycle, progressed Mercury square her natal Saturn. Any negative Saturn cycle can add depression to the mix. So she still is not completely feeling like herself. And she took on a big project, a tour, which started March 3, 2009. There is some gossip she is still struggling which is what I would suspect. But like all things, this, too, will pass in 2010. Bet she can't wait.
