JILLIAN LAUREN CAN A GIRL HAVE IT ALL?
Jillian Lauren, author of "Some Girls: My Life in a Harem" is a Leo with a Leo Mercury. So whatever she does, it must be top-of-the-line. Who would have thought she could take "Pretty Woman" to a palace in Brunei. Wasn't that a movie?
For this to happen, one must have to have a strong sense of adventure and the ability to ignore all that could go wrong. Yes, we're talking about Uranus (adventure) and Pisces/Neptune (fantasy). Jillian's progressed Venus was conjunct Uranus. Venus is love and Uranus rules the unusual. So at that time, it might be expected that her idea of love was not the same old, same old. Would everyone have made the choices she did? Definitely not. But that's free will -- the ability to make your own decisions within certain parameters.
The Pisces was supplied by her natal Moon and Neptune as a focal planet (two planets oppose and a third squares both). That's enough Neptune to rationalize almost anything especially when you're young, and she was still in her teens -- not to mention her progressed Moon was sitting on Neptune. This allowed her to enter into a highly "dangerous" situation without much thought regarding the consequences.
But for this to be successful, we need a little Jupiter magic. When you are as young as Jillian was at the time, your planets haven't had time to progress very far, so there was no Jupiter progression keeping her safe. But in a pinch, the transiting Jupiter will sometimes do, and it was in her Sun sign of Leo (a very fortunate period that happens once every twelve years). If you read her book, you will find that her adventure had good and bad elements, but definitely a lot of Jupiter money swirling around.
Astrologically, I would characterize this time as youthful indiscretion brought on by unique planetary influences. But, and I think Jillian would agree with me, I wouldn't recommend it for most of us. So if you're looking an extraordinary summer read, "Some Girls" won't disappoint. This about all the fantasy I can handle. It's quite entertaining to hear the details of life in a harem -- especially for someone whose best friend has told her for twenty years that she was a concubine in Kubla Khan's era. Yes, as you might imagine, I have psychic friends.
And, yes, Jillian appears to have it all. She survived her adventure, and now has children and a musician husband. And her astrology chart? All is well in her universe.
