The Dolly Effect or An Exaggerated Need to Feel Feminine

Marilyn Monroe was too much of a lady to actually say that. I know because her Moon was in Aquarius. You want classy? Start there. We think of her as the ultimate sex symbol but her only Scorpio was Mars in the 8th House. So without a lot of the “bad girl” aspects, sex wasn’t her priority.

What is much more likely is that as a Gemini Sun, role playing, was her gig. With a Grand Water Trine and a Pisces Mars, she had amazing depth of feeling. She could read people. Saturn as a focal planet and conjunct her Sun gave her crazy ambition. It was as simple as her looking in the mirror and saying, “What have I got to offer in a world where women aren’t taken seriously?” Gemini is smart. Her beauty was her arrow. And men were her target.

How does that compare to Kim Kardashian, a Libra/Aquarius Sun with Scorpio conjunct using a sex tape to gain fame? Just a sign of the times? Same motive? Different methods? Pretty much — with a big emphasis on the fact that one of these two women puts such a high priority on material satisfaction, love is only a commodity. Marilyn spent a lifetime looking for it, Kim, having way too many negative Moon/Venus/Mars aspects, has never given it a thought.

While Kim may compare herself to Marilyn, I would compare her to Dolly Parton and The Dolly Effect. And wouldn’t you love to see her dressed as Dolly at The Met? This is when Jupiter and Venus have prominence in the astrology chart — usually in a negative angle. A Jupiter involvement makes things get overblown. And if it’s Venus, it’s the concept of being feminine. I’m looking at Kim and I don’t see sexy, I see dysmorphic. Dolly with her Venus/Jupiter conjunction defines herself through hair and makeup. But Kim, with the much more negative aspect, Jupiter/Venus square has surgically altered herself — much like you might expect to see in transgender. It’s like Kim was born a girl but is still trying to prove she is a girl.

The question I am always asked is when are the Kardashians over? Kris is still going strong. But the amazing Jupiter aspects that brought Kim where she is today are gone. She currently has predictive Mars squaring predictive Saturn. The definition of which is “ruination.” Predictive Mercury is also sitting on her Uranus. I have to admit, she is handling this with aplomb. I would have expected to see something quite earth shattering to have happened by now as this has been in play for a year. I see her losing weight, getting a contentious divorce, unable to snag a boyfriend — even for show. But I don’t see that big bang — which I predict is still ahead of her, much like getting robbed in Paris — that may cause her to reassess her values. And even less kind, her reputation, which is wobbling on raunchy, is going to take a hit — now or in the future. Kim doesn’t see herself as others see her. Dolly can laugh at herself. But can Kim?

With an amazing Pisces Moon, Kim could be helping a lot more people and causes. And she may not agree, but this would give her much more genuine satisfaction. She’s not a horrible person. She isn’t mean and she works really hard. And she’s finally living on earth like the rest of us. Jupiter is over. The hall pass is over.
