THE SUSAN BOYLE PHENOMENA

She may not look very complicated, but with a Grand Square (all the cardinal planets are represented, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn & Aries), she is. This automatically gives her four focal planets (placed in a circle in order, these planets create a cross with each planet 90 degrees from the other).

So Susan has a lot of energy with Mars in Cancer even through this is a placement usually associated with vacillating -- due to the back and forth nature of Cancer. Her Moon in Libra creates a very lovely and unassuming person. I  like Libra Moon people because they are quite charming, but in a square, she is very sensitive. Then Saturn comes along in Capricorn in its rulership --  it normally operates well there (except hers is in the Grand Square), but it definitely produces someone who hangs in there and doesn't quit, and finally her Sun, in Aries (the final leg of the square), the adventurer.

At the time of the "Britain's Got Talent" contest, Susan had a Jupiter aspect, but hers was an opposition from Mars so she came in second. And because this is a negative aspect, it wasn't a totally happy experience. However, her natal Jupiter is in Aquarius and the transiting Jupiter was in Aquarius during 2009 so she was experiencing a Jupiter Return, and this accounts for the fame and the money.

But Susan deserves a lot of the credit. Not everyone with these aspects will experience this level of success. The real reason she is so successful is that she has talent. This isn't just someone cashing in on a positive Jupiter period. This is someone who did the work and didn't give up and with only marginal aspects, still made it happen. You don't see this often.
