Matthew was a limelight loving Leo, the sign that rules entertainment. His Venus was in family loving Cancer. Mercury in detail loving Virgo and Mars in truth loving Sagittarius. But that’s where the love stops. His Moon was in a sign that didn’t allow him to love himself — Scorpio.
Moon in Scorpio is such a complicated definition. There is always a sexual component since Scorpio rules the genitals — exaggerated sexual inclinations. Sex addiction; The Weeknd, gambling; Ben Affleck, need to feel degraded; Wendy Williams or fall victim to a scandal; Britney Murphy. All adding up to emotional debauchery — not the least of which is the temptation of drugs.
Scorpio Moon people lack boundaries. The reason Scorpio is a bad position for the Moon is that the qualities of Scorpio and the qualities of the Moon aren’t compatible. Therefore a native with this configuration is never comfortable with their feelings. The good feelings feel weird and the bad feelings, while comfortable, create mountains of guilt. Many successful people have Moon in Scorpio — successful by society’s standards. They have great strength of purpose, but you rarely find it translates to their personal life. When alone, they brood. They’re depressed.
Overall trying to be an average normal person was simply was not possible for Matthew. He never felt connected. Always an outsider. Unlike a Capricorn Moon, who dreams of taking you down, a Scorpio Moon will ghost you. They walk away due to an extreme fear of rejection. Most of the time, you’ll have no idea why. Matthew told a story about dating Julia Roberts. He was so convinced he wasn’t good enough for her, he broke up with her.
In Matthew, we have an extremely talented man, handsome and charming. One of those people who seem to have it all. But without understanding the constant bombardment of dark thoughts and the masochistic need to hurt himself, he spent most of his life hiding who he was. We could have handled the truth.
And just before he died, he decided to share with us. (Mars in Sagittarius.) He wrote his autobiography on a Jupiter high and won us over again as easily as in the days of Friends. But Jupiter’s protection didn’t last. At the time of his death he had predictive Venus (love) conjunct Pluto (death). Also predictive Mercury (his reputation) conjunct Uranus (surprises). He was finally getting the acceptance he craved, but the shame remained. There was still one person who didn’t love him — one person all the charm in the world couldn’t penetrate. Himself.

Seems like Matthew longed for a love match and to have children, so sad.
