#CHRISROCK TOO MUCH?
The Oscars had no black nominees in the major acting categories for the last two years. Black people complained and the Academy took note promising to make long overdue changes. Wasn't that enough? Speaking as a women, the biggest minority out there. We knew, girls, it would be a black president before a women. Of course, we knew that. So would we have been happy with the Academy's response. Yes. Right?
Chris Rock, the emcee of last night's ceremony, The Academy Awards, thought, no. No the Academy changing their way of doing business was not enough and, by the way, women don't need to be represented separately as in Female Actor and Male Actor. No, he thought it should be Black Actor (men and women?) and White Actor. Maybe it was a joke. I wasn't laughing.
Chris Rock is an Aquarius and one of the funniest people on the planet -- not necessarily an Aquarian trait. But here is where it gets extreme. Your Venus is almost always in the sign in front or behind you -- or in your own sign as Chris' is. His Venus is in Aquarius and so is his Mercury. That means he can be a bit chilly and detached since that's a lot of Aquarius, arguably the most cool sign in the zodiac. Then we have the focal planets. He has the movie star combo of Sun (the world evolves around me) and Venus (unloved and unlovable) and Mercury (verbally abusive). He also has a very dangerous combination of the personal planet Mars conjunct two malefic outer planets -- Pluto and Uranus. These people can be mean at heart. Please take note of this if you see it.
My question is, is Chris Rock funny because he's so detached and unsympathetic? Were the people that were nominated energetically cheated out of their moment because of the relentless white guilt dialogue? We expected him to address the issue. But did he go too far? I would really like your opinion on this. Hollywood appears to be ignoring it. All night I kept thinking, why don't we have The White Awards, because, hey, we can't? The last thing Chris Rock said, was be sure to watch the BET Awards. Too much?
