Two things can be true at the same time. Yes, Serena wrote an article for Harper's Bazaar where she blames her US Open tennis match -- specifically her beef with the referee for her melt down. And yes, I believe her. She didn't like his call and thought his ruling was unfair. But here's where I disagree. Why did this argument happen in the first place? I'm going to say, you create your reality. She walked into this match with emotional baggage. She could have handled it much, much differently. And normally she would have. But she had issues with her marriage which she didn't want to confront. She was spoiling for a fight. And the referee supplied it.
